Whatever your circumstances, knowing you can call on someone like me to give you extra support in the familiar surroundings of your own home can be a great comfort and help you to maintain your freedom and independence.
"Rosemary has changed our lives for the better..."
Rosemary Nicholls
"My parents absolutely loved your company and I'm sure your visits did them the world of good."
I can provide assistance with your home care needs as and when required, on a daily basis or for as little as just an hour a week.
We all love our homes, they are where we feel the happiest and the most comfortable and where we would like to be.
"We are so grateful to you for enabling our parents to remain at home..."
But sometimes, unforeseen circumstances arise that make staying at home a worry. Challenges such as illness, recent surgery, hospital stays, decreasing mobility, bereavement or just feeling 'under the weather'. Sometimes loved ones may be too far away to help regularly.
Knowing you can call on the same reliable, trustworthy and hardworking person in the familiar surroundings of your own home can be hugely reassuring and comforting. Sometimes just that extra support for an hour or two a week can make all the difference in being able to maintain one's freedom and independence.
"...I cannot praise Rosemary enough."
My name is Rosemary Nicholls. I have lived in Salisbury with my husband and two daughters for 28 years. I know Salisbury, the city centre and the surrounding area very well. I also spent some of my youth in the area as my father was in the army and often posted locally.
I have been a nurse for the past 40 years. I worked as a school nurse in a girl's boarding school, caring for both day and boarding pupils, for most of my time in Salisbury.
I started providing care and a support for people at home almost seven years ago ago, and it has been so rewarding and enjoyable.
It came about because having looked after my parents, in-laws and neighbours I began to see what a difference just a little simple help, companionship and support made to their quality of life, independence, confidence and well-being.
"I simply do not know how we, or my mother would cope without you."
“Rosemary Nicholls has been looking after me as a carer for 11 months. She is reliable, punctual, hard-working and quick, and willing to do anything. I would strongly recommend her.”
— sUTTON MANDEVILLE resident
“I can't praise Rosemary enough. She has transformed old age for me. She will do anything she is asked and never forgets to do something, and always does it perfectly. Rosemary smiles whatever the weather and however awful the task which is asked of her.”
— salisbury close resident
"My 99 year old mother has always tried to be as independent as possible but realises that a reliance on others is increasingly necessary. Rosemary stepped in after she suffered a painful bout of shingles and we were not disappointed. Rosemary immediately injected an air of serenity and total reliability to the extent that my mother longs for her visits. She has been a Godsend and my mother and I cannot praise her enough. She has been everything that one could wish for as a carer, companion and trustworthy confidante. She is one in a million and those in Salisbury who need care or companionship would be extremely fortunate to benefit from her professionalism, thoughtfulness, kindness and integrity."

“Our 95 year old mother moved to Salisbury three years ago after being widowed. Although in good health and highly mobile, a visual impairment means she needs assistance with practical tasks at home and in town.
Rosemary has provided solid, dependable support and companionship to our mother for the last three years. Reliability and compassion have been the keynotes.
My brother and I are kept informed by email and WhatsApp of any issues which arise. Knowing that Rosemary visits a couple of times a week and will be alert to any problems has been invaluable to us and our mother.
We would highly recommend her.”

“I don’t recall exactly how long we have known Rose. It is probably almost a year but it feels like we have known her forever. I found her details online when looking for a carer/companion for my husband who has been quite unwell and at a low ebb. Rose is trustworthy, calm and steady. She has such a lightness about her that it makes her special to be around. She is quite alert to and interested in what is going on with my husband, picking up things I may not have noticed. Her background in nursing is useful as she can assess a situation with a professional eye. She’s happy to read with him, meditate, play scrabble, converse, go for walks. She’s hugely adaptable.
The above is just a sketch but the main point is Rose is lovely company and my husband never fails to be uplifted by her presence.”

“It comes as a surprise when you suddenly become old and need assistance from others. In 2020, I became 90 years old and my wife reached the age of 88. We were both perfectly well, but then suddenly we weren't. A friend referred us to Rosemary Nicholls and this referral has proved to be the luckiest thing that happened to us in years.
Rosemary became our part-time carer, and it is a truism to say, that she has changed our lives for the better in many respects including guidance in medical matters, general assistance in and out of our home and also, very importantly, becoming a valued and close friend.
It goes without saying that we recommend Rosemary to anyone who needs a carer, any type of home help or gentle and knowledgeable companionship.”

“I have known Rosemary now for just over three years. She has been a part time, but regular, companion for my sister who is a resident of Amesbury Abbey. Rosemary has been wonderful and is much loved by my sister. She has played a large part in organising visits with other carers but, most of all, she has been a companion, friend and support to my sister.
As to myself and my family, Rosemary has been invaluable and it is a source of great comfort to know that wherever we are in the world, my sister has Rosemary to visit her. Rosemary is a star.”
— BROTHER OF AMESBURY ABBEY RESIDENT
“Rosemary came highly recommended as a carer by a Clinical Nurse Specialist who knows her well. We were not disappointed. She supported us in caring for our elderly mother who was becoming increasingly immobile due to acute illness. Rosemary has a calm energy about her which was very welcome during stressful times. She was reliable, willing to help in any way she could and incredibly empathetic and kind.”
— WILTON RESIDENT
“Rosemary is all you could possibly want, and more, if you are looking for someone to help, care for (or just keep an eye on) an older relative. My 95 year old mother is fiercely quick to resist all newcomers - she very soon appreciated Rosemary for the angel that she is and now relies on her completely. Rosemary is experienced, reliable, sensitive, utterly trustworthy and has that extraordinary patience and practicality that makes her the perfect helper. My only reservation in recommending her to anyone else is that we will always want more of her valuable time not less!”
